NBA legends Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal have spent most of their time together on the sets of TNT after retirement. The camaraderie between the two has pushed the show to astronomical heights. However, there is a huge difference between their net worth. Big Diesel’s business investments have been a huge key for him to bag a net worth of more than $400 million. While Chuck doesn’t come close to it, his impact must not be underestimated. It’s safe to say the Phoenix Suns legend has a much greater influence than 4-time champ Shaq when it comes to sports media.

Barkley might have been jealous of Shaq’s riches initially. However, the recent $3 billion golf news might stand beneficial for the 1993 MVP. Sadly, it might also lead to his departure from the fans’ favorite ‘NBA on TNT’.

60-year-old Charles Barkley has been a part of ‘Inside the NBA’ for more than two decades now starting from 2000. Right after his retirement, Chuck managed to bag a contract with the post-game show. Moreover, the 1993 MVP also signed a 10-year contract extension for a massive $100 million last year, which put a smile on the NBA fans’ faces. 

Shaq joined the show late in 2011. However, the impact he created alongside Chuck is the X factor which continues to give the show more fame. This hilarious combo could have come to an end before Barkley signed an extension. The Suns’ legend shared in a podcast he was inches away from signing with LIV Golf for much bigger money. However, he skipped the offer to continue with his NBA buddies.

Nonetheless, his chances of leaving are not completely eliminated. Backed by Saudi Arabians, the LIV golf recently merged with PGA tour for a humongous $3 billion. Although it has received severe criticism from golfers, it might stand beneficial to Barkley. As per reports, the LIV was deeply interested in hiring Barkley to cover golf.
