Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley is not someone whose interest in sports stops at basketball. The former player is known to be a big golf player, enjoying the occasional round here and there. He has even participated in some renowned tournaments. While he has continued to improve his skillset over the years, part of the growth could be attributed to the company he keeps. Chuck frequently visits the greens with PGA champions. One of them is Rory McIlroy.
With the highly awaited Ryder Cup expected to start next month, Charles Barkley took a moment to give his regards to the one of the leaders of the Europe, hours after engaging in trash talk with him.
Barkley wishes Rory McIlroy to “get healthy for the Ryder Cup”

The official Instagram handle of the PGA Tour recently uploaded a post. It features Charles Barkley visiting a golf course and doing a Q and A session. He takes some time in between to greet some of the most renowned names in the sport of golf. The fourth slide of the post featured Barkley shaking hands with 34-year-old Rory McIlroy.
The two exchanged some pleasantries, with Barkley turning to the other people for a moment and referring to the golfer as a “three time winner.” The duo took a picture with the tournament trophy placed between them on a high platform.

Before he departed, the golfer once again shook hands with Chuck. The latter turned to McIlroy and genuinely said “Get Healthy for the Ryder Cup. Get healthy, brother.”
McIlroy is expected to be one of the team leaders during the biennial tournament. If that wasn’t reason enough for all eyes to be fixated on him, golf enthusiasts will be paying special attention to him due to his recent injury.
Charles Barkley thinks McIlroy is “lying” about injury
McIlroy recently made the news for missing a game during the Tour Championship week. Barkley, who is rooting for Rory, encountered McIlroy on the CBS set. Chuck jokingly stated his opinion on the real condition of the three time champion’s back.
“You got your speed up on one of these drives today, so I think you’re lying,” said Barkley while Renner could be heard in the background saying “Oh Wow.”

As it turned out, the golfer injured his lower back due to a “muscular issue”. Describing the injury, Rory stated how his “whole right side just completely seized up (with a spasm).” Despite the same, the golfer was able to score the fourth highest score during his next game.

Before departing, the Northern Irish player was wished good luck by the NBA star for the Ryder Cup. This took him aback at first but he still appreciated the kind words. The Ryder Cup will take place from the 29 of September to the 1 of October.
