Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union were clearly in need of this upgrade! A lavish home perched right between socialite Kylie Jenner’s and DeMar DeRozan’s houses, might not have made the ideal vacation home. The couple dished out a fortune of $17.9 million to secure this property in Hidden Hills. Three years later now, they seem to have found a love for more laid-back luxury, as rumors swirl about the Wade couple buying a beach home away from LA.
As per the latest NY Post Gimme Shelter, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union bought a house in a quiet corner of the North Fork of Long Island, about 2,800 miles away from their home in LA. Sources assume that the Bring It On actress and her husband shelled out $2.6 million to purchase the property, sprawled across 0.47 acres.
Both the couple and the sellers are yet to make a comment. And even though we don’t know the exact purpose of this house, it’s undoubtedly a perfect vacation home for the couple. Spread across 3,500 square feet, their abode boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The bedroom suite features a private balcony and a quiet corner with an antique office table for work, overlooking a gorgeous water view. The house also has another study/guest room for when they have friends over.

Recently designed, the house boasts breathtaking interiors. The high ceilings, open floor plan, open chef’s kitchen, and a connection to a private beach, it could be just the place for the Wade-Union couple to unwind.
Built in the space of a 1940s cottage, both the interiors and exteriors of the house reflect the personality of the owners.

Who are the previous owners of Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s new rumored home?
The sellers of the house are New York Times-bestselling The Plaza author Julie Satow and her husband Stuart Elliott. Elliott is the CEO and editor-in-chief of the real estate news outlet Real Deal. The family bought the house back in 2016 for $600,000. After spending quite some time there, the couple decided that the old cabin house needed a complete renovation to make it suitable for their two kids.
This was in 2020 when the author contacted Eric Liftin from Mesh Architectures and Jennifer Bunsa of Bunsa Studio for the renovation. It wasn’t an easy task, given the time of the pandemic, but the long duration allowed the designers to work in complete sync with what their clients wanted. The neon lighting is one such feature. The pink light is basically a filter put on glasses to add to the charm of the house.

A lot will likely change if the owners are indeed the Wade’s who must be looking for a new home.
Wade has previously owned a mansion in Miami equipped with a Miami Heat-themed basketball court. He sold it for $22 million before finding his new home in LA. The couple then sold their Sherman Oaks house for $5.5 million in 2020. The current one in Hidden Hills was seemingly their next purchase and if the things are official, Long Island could be their vacation regular soon.
