A few days ago, Carmelo Anthony didn’t appreciate the GOAT take from Scottie Pippen. In that debate, the Bulls legend crowned Magic Johnson as the true GOAT of the sport and dissed LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Plus, Pip claimed he would have the same rings without MJ, which also caused outrage online. However, Dwyane Wade knows the reason why these statements were made in the first place and surprisingly backed the idea.

On his podcast, the Heat legend added, “Scottie was hot; Scottie came out he was hot at how he was portrayed in the last dance. And right or wrong that’s for them to decide. But Scottie Pippen has been doing an amazing job as someone who did not walk away from the game with what Jordan walked away from the game with.” The 3x NBA Champion, like MJ was able to build his brand. The other players, especially his teammates, were not able to maximize that opportunity.

Back in 2011, several media outlets reported that Pippen was broke. However, the 6x NBA Champion sued a lot of media outlets for $1 million each; but the judge dismissed the case. During that period, the 59-year-old claimed he had a net worth of $40 million from 2001 to 2011. As per Celebrity Net Worth, his current net worth is $20 million, whereas Michael Jordan is a billionaire. That’s why Dwyane Wade emphasized the Bulls legend’s statement as a tool for him to stay relevant. Which is why he has no problem with those takes.

And you know he still has to go out here, and he has to build his life and his brand and everything. And you know sometime when you have to do that you got to utilize your platform. To do that, Scottie has all y’all talking about him and all of us talking about him and he will say some controversial stuff.” Dwyane Wade, on his latest episode on the podcast, extended his support for the Bulls legend.

Is Dwyane Wade right about Pippen’s strategy?

As the Marquette legend mentioned, Pip’s opinions started trending after his portrayal in The Last Dance. To counter that he and other Chicago teammates did a ‘No Bulls’ tour. In three cities in Australia, with his former Bulls teammates Horace Grant and Luc Longley. This was well received by the fans, as it was not anti-Michael Jordan, but emphasized more on other player’s stories. Apart from this, Pippen’s tweet has been a hit in the fanbase.

Ever since he started the use of AI-generated memes, the Bulls legend gained more popularity. The one with 27 million views has been with Elon Musk in the Bulls jersey. “How many championships would we have won with @ElonMusk?” Let’s not forget he also promoting his crypto coin, Game 5 Ball. Which is why he earned a key role during a finance conference.
