Having won the bronze medal in previous World Athletics Championships, the 22-year-old American athlete Anna Hall was aiming for the gold in 2023. However, Britain’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson beat her to win the heptathlon title by 20 points this year. As the athlete took to Twitter to thank her followers for all the love, netizens praised her remarkable performance at the Worlds. She may not have won the gold medal but she earned something more precious than the championship title. NBA legend Magic Johnson shared a motivating message for her on his Twitter handle.

Hall secured 6720 points and Thompson beat her with a total of 6740. Magic commented days after the American athlete expressed her disappointment online.

Having won two NCAA Division I titles and three U.S. National championships, Hall is one of the most talented athletes in the country. The Los Angeles Lakers legend took to his social media handle to praise and encourage the athlete. His tweet read, I have a lot of respect for annahall and her effort in the women’s heptathlon!”
