Like many, former Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson has always admired LeBron James. Even though LeBron gave Jackson’s Warriors a hard time more often than not, the 58-year-old was full of praise for the 4x champion after he moved to the commentator’s table. However, the player-turned-coach-turned-analyst does not agree with calling the leading scorer with 40,000 points the GOAT. He is still stuck on how great Michael Jordan is.

On the latest episode of ‘The Mark Jackson Show’, the former NBA All-Star and his son, Bluu, discussed who the GOAT is. After praising the King initially, Jackson opposed Bluu for calling LeBron James GOAT by saying, “Let me give you two words… M. J.” He continued by clarifying that none of this was to undermine LeBron and his accomplishments. He said, “Michael Jordan is the GOAT in my book, in my opinion.”

Nevertheless, Jackson wished the LA Lakers star saying, “LeBron James is in the discussion and congratulations on the incredible feat and continue to climb the charts and make history.” He also said how every basket he will now make is going to be historic. In the end, he also let Bluu have his way and asked him to go ahead and call LeBron James the GOAT.

Even though the father-son duo was in disagreement about their GOAT, it was refreshing to see both of them accept the points of each other. And even before Mark got into the GOAT debate, he was full of praise for the King.

While it may take some more facts to sway Jackson from calling LeBron GOAT, Jackson’s son did manage to get him clapping in appreciation. “This man did something that has never been done before. 40,000 points.” Jackson continued talking as he applauded King James. “Yeah, I’m gon’ clap it up for LeBron. There’s no hate in me.”

He added, “Think about it. 40,000 points and he has a career triple-double. 40,000 points, over 10,000 assists, over 10,000 rebounds. He has absolutely put on a clinic as far as his basketball career is concerned and what he’s been able to accomplish. And it doesn’t seem like it’s close to the end. It’s unbelievable what he’s doing.”

At this point, Bluu called out, “GOAT!” Confused at first, Jackson asked him to repeat and then did not agree with his co-host, which led to the above-mentioned conversation. What are your thoughts on Jackson’s take? Let us know in the comments below.
