Despite just three minutes of action under his belt, and not a single bucket, Bronny James was part of the history books. The James clan and the family’s supporters were eagerly waiting for the moment to come true. One of the firm supporters is LeBron James’ former teammate Dwyane Wade. Although he couldn’t be at the game, the Heat legend shared his emotions on social media.
“So🔥” Instead of expressing the word fire, he chose the emoticon to express himself. Dwyane Wade shared the post from the Bleacher Report, which had uploaded a then-vs-now picture of Bronny and LeBron James. The first picture was from 2007 when LeBron held a young Bronny after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference finals. The recent photo was from the first game of the season against the Wolves.
“How it started ➡️ How it’s going WILD 🤯,” was the caption from the post from BR, which Dwyane Wade shared. After the game, when asked about one particular moment from the game, that he will remember the most, Bronny James had just the perfect moment to describe. “Going up to that scores table my dad checking in for the first time that’s a a crazy moment I will never forget.” With this, they became the first active father-son pair to play in the NBA and for the same franchise.

They checked in together for the historic moment, with four minutes to go in the second quarter. The hype around the moment has been anticipated since the draft day. But not everybody is on board since his USC Trojans stats were poor. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists with 19.3 minutes of action across 25 games. One former player even criticized LeBron James for politicizing the move and even compared the situation with Michael Jordan.
“You think MJ didn’t have the power to bring both of his boys to the Washington Wizards? Come on now. He never would cheat the game like this.” Kwame Brown appeared on the Role Player Podcast a month ago. The former #1 draft pick has been critical since Bronny’s summer league debut and expects more performance from the rookie. But ‘The Flash’ isn’t the one who would demotivate Bronny, after all, even Zaire is once again ready for his G-league journey.

Dwyane Wade and his unwavering support to the James family
It was not the only time the 3x NBA Champion shared his support over social media. Dwyane Wade wrote after the 55th pick selection, “One of the dopest moments in our sport!” Also, when LeBron uploaded a photo with his son on social media, after the second game of the preseason, Wade wrote: “🫡 👑.”

When Bronny faced criticism for declaring for the draft, Dwyane Wade was once again a vocal supporter. Despite the 20-year-old’s less-than-stellar college stats, the Heat legend said, “put in enough work to get drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers,” and that he deserved his place with the team.”
He further added the routine and the struggle he had witnessed and clapped back at the haters. “They haven’t seen Bronny James get up at 5:00 in the morning to go live his dream.” Fortunately or unfortunately, the debate around Bronny James selection would continue, until the performances improve. Meanwhile, Dwyane Wade is making sure to stand behind his former teammate’s son.
