Michael Jordan used to obsess over this movie! Few are fortunate enough to receive appreciation from his Airness. One of those few is a 55-year-old revered actor who couldn’t contain his delight as he shared that MJ used to love his movie. Apart from basketball, golf, and cigars, the Chicago Bulls legend was a big fan of a certain Christmas movie. The actor found out about it when he met the 6-time champion for the first time.

During a podcast, he revealed the entire story of his encounter with Jordan.

As Christmas approaches, people are eagerly compiling their list of favorite movies. Many don’t hesitate to revisit cherished classics. Do you remember the classic movie ‘A Christmas Story‘ directed by Bob Clark? It was the 6x champion go-to Christmas movie. He loved it so much that he kept a VHS tape in his locker. It was revealed by one of the actors in the movie, Scott Schwartz. Yes, the actor who played the character of Flick. During one of his radio shows with Mancow’s Morning Madhouse, he found out that Jordan was a big fan of the movie.

He said as quoted by Slash Film, “I was in Chicago doing a radio show, the “Mancow” show and he wanted me to go and talk to the Bulls guys, Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman.” He added, “He couldn’t get them, and I had met Rodman, whatever. And come to find out that Michael Jordan is ‘A Christmas Story’ fanatic. He had the VHS tape in his locker and took it on the road with him.”

Schwartz mentioned that Jordan even made some impressions, such as the “tongue on the pole” from the movie. Perhaps, this movie gave him some delight when he couldn’t celebrate the festival with his family.

Michael Jordan missed his family during Christmas

The legend once shared how he used to miss his family during the festivals. During an interview, he shared about the difficulty he faced in falling asleep on Christmas Eve. He said, “I think it was very hard for me to go to sleep on Christmas Eve.” He revealed, “I was looking forward to getting up and opening my presents and hopefully having a bicycle or whatever Santa Claus was supposed to bring me.”
