The Minnesota Timberwolves have a great shot at getting the best prospect from the 2020 NBA draft class. They have the #1 overall pick in the draft and an opportunity to pick any player they want. However, it seems James Wiseman is not interested in joining the Wolves.

Wiseman has the potential to become a great player in the league. But according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the 19-year-old is not interested in being part of the Timberwolves.

Wiseman does not want to come to Minnesota because Karl Towns is there. From what I understand, Wiseman doesn’t even want to do anything with the Wolves.”

Honestly, like Windhorst said, pairing up Towns and Wiseman won’t make any sense. The Wolves would be forced to shift one of them to the power forward position, which will ultimately do them more harm than good.

Moreover, Towns is just 24-years-old right now and he is already one of the better centers in the league. In a few years, he might become a force to be reckoned with. That said, if the Wolves draft Wiseman, it could make both Wiseman and Towns unhappy.

They could end up with no star center on their roster. So taking such a huge risk makes no sense for the Timberwolves.

Which player would be the best choice for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

With James Wiseman out of the picture, the next two best players as of now are LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards. Again, though, the Wolves already have an All-Star talent in D’Angelo Russell filling the point position for them.

Getting LaMelo will only reduce Russell’s touches and ultimately hurt the team. So the best choice for the Timberwolves is to go for Anthony Edwards. Moreover, many analysts believe that he will be the #1 pick in the draft.

The Wolves are in need for a forward as well, ever since Andrew Wiggins was traded. All things considered, the trio of Edwards, Russell, and Towns could carry the Wolves to an NBA Championship one day.

What are your thoughts on the recent comments by James Wiseman? Was it a good decision for him to flat out reject the opportunity for to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves?
