About a month into NBA 2K21’s release, 2K Sports has now dropped Patch 1.04 for the current-gen game. The biggest highlight is a spooky season being added to the game, with a lot of Halloween-inspired art and events dropping into The Neighbourhood soon. Here are the seven significant updates to NBA 2K21 from this patch.
New changes in The Neighborhood
With the onset of October, 2K has brought in Halloween art. Graffiti art related to the Halloween theme has been added along the 2K beach. In addition to this, each court has a fancy and unique design with spiders and lanterns.

Park dribbles
Park dribble moves now require a Hall of Fame Tight Handles badge to be used. Park dribble moves when calling for screens have also been disabled in order to prevent confusion. This has received some flak from players. Some argue that there should be a separate option to turn off park dribbles instead of having to downgrade the badge to gold, while others want this feature available right from the gold tier badge.
Updated player faces in NBA 2K21
More than 60 NBA and WNBA players have been given an updated player face. The most notable ones are Kevin Durant, Clint Capela, and Robert Covington, who has finally got an update to his hair in the game.
New events for 2K Beach
Currently, the last event on 2K Beach is Basketball Godz which will go on till October 18. Once that gets over, 2K has promised brand new events that will last until November. More information about these events will be out soon.
PlayNow Menu
Miami Heat vs Los Angles Lakers is now the default Quick Play matchup on NBA 2K21. One can directly play the Finals matchup on this game mode, but the lack of NBA Finals court stickers makes this feature seem incomplete.
Adjustment to screens
There has been a minor gameplay change to improve setting screens to make things seem more realistic. Now, when you set a screen, your player is less likely to move, so the chances of illegal screens have gone down.
