The Golden State Warriors are only days away from their first experience of the 2023 playoffs. The mighty task of defending the elusive throne is one the Bay is desperate to achieve. In the first round, they face a well-rounded Sacramento Kings, a franchise that achieved a playoff berth for the first time since 2006. The Warriors will need all their stars firing with formidable opponents in front. However, there is a looming doubt over one particular player, Andrew Wiggins.
After returning from a long absence, Wiggins is yet to suit up for the Warriors. With playoffs approaching, assistant coach Ron Adams broke down their approach of getting the 28-year-old starlet back into rhythm.

In February, Wiggins’ nightmare phase began. In the shadows, he had to battle the news of his father suffering from a severe medical illness. Also, harsh rumors(which Dubs star Draymond Green described as “disgusting”) surrounding his girlfriend, Mychal Johnson, only made matters worse. For 51 days, the All-Star forward stayed away from the game until finally making a public appearance during the Warriors’ regular season game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Later sitting down with the media, Wiggins was confident about his return. “I don’t think it will be too long before I am out there,” said the Warriors forward to the reporters. However, the reality of the situation differs from his stellar motivation.
Giving an update on the former number one overall pick, the Warriors assistant coach said, “We’re going to scrimmage in the next couple of days but I think the moment will also really focus Wiggs and hopefully we’ll see a good version of him. It’s not simple to be away from the rhythm of the game and then be thrust into it again.”

Last season, Wiggins’ exceptional two-way play was one of the biggest reasons the Warriors could ascend to the throne once again. Not only that but before leaving, Andrew Wiggins was playing some of his best basketball. In his last game, the explosive forward erupted for 29 points in a Warriors victory.
The latest update could mean the Bay area starlet requires more time to get back into his rhythm. Not playing any NBA basketball for months, the front office and staff need to make sure he is ready to compete. The organization gave him time and space in his darkest time, and there seems to be no rush in bringing him back into the lineup.
