Former Boston Celtics player Kendrick Perkins expressed his dissatisfaction on current Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving on air.

Perkins played eight seasons for the Celtics between 2003 and 2011. He was actually selected by Memphis Grizzlies with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft but was traded to Boston on draft night. During his time in Bis ty onx Perkins won a Championship in 2008 before he eventually moved to Oklahoma City Thunder in 2011.

Irving, meanwhile, joined Boston Celtics in 2017 after playing five seasons with Cleveland Cavaliers. However, two seasons later, Irving forced a move out of Boston in 2019.

Perkins, who was on-air for the game between Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets on Tuesday, made his discontention on Kyrie leaving Boston vocal.

You know, when I was playing for the Celtics I never really focused on the crowd or the fans, I was so locked in,” Perkins said. “But now that I’m an analyst and I’m retired, it’s amazing how many Celtics fans there are around the world. Do you hear these chants right now? Let’s go Celtics.

 

“And Kyrie Irving didn’t want to play for this franchise,” Perkins added. “Every time I think of that guy, I want to throw up.”

Prior to the start of the 2019/20 MBA season, Irving joined Brooklyn Nets. The Nets had also signed Kevin Durant in the preseason,  making the team stronger.

With Durant and Irving in the team,  the Nets will have high aspirations. Their performance is expected to improve when Durant, who is currently out with injury,  becomes available.
