Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving recently found himself in controversy, after being accused of antisemitism. The sports world and endorsers for the same widely slammed him. However, a recently resurfaced video from 2021 showed Floyd Mayweather Jr. standing in solidarity with Irving. This in turn confused fans, with many questioning its credibility.

In a now-deleted tweet, Irving shared a link to a movie from 2018. His actions further sparked a newfound interest in a movement that had extremist factions with a history of antisemitism and misogyny.
Moreover, Irving’s actions sparked a massive backlash with notable names like LeBron James calling him out.
In fact, Nike even suspended its relationship with the Brooklyn Nets player. Talking about the same, a spokesperson said, “We’ve made the decision to suspend our relationship with Kyrie Irving effective immediately. And will no longer launch the Kyrie 8. We are deeply saddened and disappointed by the situation and its impact on everyone.”

Meanwhile, a resurfaced video showed Mayweather extending his support to Irvin. Mayweather stressed the importance of freedom of speech. And that he hopes Irvin would inspire people. This video, in turn, confused fans. They thought Mayweather was supporting the current situation.
However, the video was from 2021, and Mayweather was showing his solidarity with Irving’s stand on vaccination.

Fans were confused as to why Floyd Mayweather was extending his support to Kyrie Irving. Moreover, a lot of them even commented on the tweet to share their thoughts about the same.
