He suffered from a right groin strain and won’t be returning for the rest of the night. His presence for the upcoming games will be depended on a thorough check-up after the game.
Pretty innocuous looking play when Jayson Tatum strained his groin but you can see him motioning to that area after retreating to the back with a trainer. pic.twitter.com/efFAI69AeF

He returned to the bench in the fourth quarter with his right thigh wrapped up as he deals with a groin strain. He was doing much better he was walking hardly with a limp on his way back after the game. Tatum even stopped to take off his shoes and sign them for a fan.

Celtic’s Situation
This is a rough blow for the Celtics as they are already dealing with an injury to Jaylen Brown. Brown didn’t play in tonight’s match. Tatum was having an amazing game before getting hurt, he scored 23 points and was well on his way on having a monster night. He also had seven rebounds and three assists.

Jayson Tatum has averaged 21.5 points this season a six-point increase from last season. He also leads the team in minutes played with 34.1 minutes on a nightly basis making him a core player. He has made a legitimate case for an All-Star bid and has erupted to stardom with his jersey sales.
The Celtics have mostly avoided major injuries to their squad this season although Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward have been benched for chunks of time.
Tatum has been one of the constants for Celtics as they sit 29-14 on the season, winning 18 of their first 23 home games. It certainly wouldn’t be welcome as with Tatum and a healthy Celtics team they have a chance to grab the second seed in the east
