Three years have passed since Kobe Bryant tragically left the world. The Los Angeles Lakers legend’s tragic passing has left a deep wound in the hearts of close ones and millions of basketball fans around the world. When the news about Kobe’s passing broke, many found it difficult to fathom the devastating news. Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg is one such Kobe fan who couldn’t fathom what he had heard back then.

Snoop Dogg couldn’t believe it when he heard for the first time that Kobe was no more. Turns out, the rap icon still finds it hard to accept that Kobe Bryant has left the world.

Snoop Dogg recalls the moment he heard about Kobe Bryant’s passing

Snoop Dogg and Kobe Bryant go way back. Being an avid Lakers fan, Snoop Dogg has many times shown his admiration towards Kobe Bryant. In his recent appearance on Pivot Podcast, Snoop Dogg spent quite some time recollecting the memories of the 5x-NBA champion. Though the rap legend recalled some of the warm memories he has had with Bryant, Snoop Dogg also touched up on Bryant’s tragic death.

As Snoop Dogg puts it, he was on the road when the news about Kobe’s death broke. When he heard it for the first time, Snoop Dogg had refused to believe it. He soon tried former teammate Rick Fox’s number, but Fox didn’t pick up.

“I didn’t wanna believe it. You know what I am saying. Because you didn’t see it, you can’t believe it. Still to this day, I can’t believe it because I didn’t see it. But it’s just like you got to live with it and you got to know it is God’s plan,” Snoop Dogg said.

Though Snoop Dogg sadly sounded off about the tragic loss of his friend, he did weigh in about some warm memories of the lost Laker.

Snoop Dogg’s precious gift to Kobe Bryant

Snoop is one of those lifetime Laker fans from the celebrity world. Once, he got the Lakers legends including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others, to sign his customized 1967 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible. Besides, Snoop has also painted the car in Lakers’ gold and purple colors.

After Kobe retired from the hardwood, Kobe’s good friend Snoop had gifted him the Pontiac. Snoop recalled that gifting the car to Kobe is one of the greatest memories in his life. Moreover, he is glad that Kobe’s family has still got the legendary lowrider in their garage.
