The battle for the Larry O’Brien trophy continued between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets on Friday. After a shocker at home, Jimmy Butler and his crew were after vengeance. On the other hand, Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets have looked formidable, almost like they have a constant edge over their Finals rivals. But both teams showed urgency and were bound to land blows. However, tonight the Kaseya Center saw a knockout before the final buzzer, one that came from the vintage left hand of Conor McGregor, who gave his best Charles Barkley impression.

The UFC phenom was in Miami for the Game 4 contest between the Nuggets and the Heat. During one of the timeouts, he might have shown the world he can still put anyone to sleep. But his KO didn’t draw the expected reactions.

Combat fans have long awaited to see the ‘Notorious’ one in action. Ever since his heartbreaking loss to Dustin Poirier, the former UFC lightweight champion has been on a hiatus. That was until groundbreaking news of his return to the octagon against Michael Chandler finally came. But it seems McGregor couldn’t wait to show the fans he still has that devastating knockout power.

Attending his first-ever basketball game, the Irish fighter unleashed a left hook on the Miami Heat mascot, Burnie. He also used the opportunity to promote his new Tidl Cryotherapy Spray. Unfortunately, the boos from the crowd might suggest they weren’t very pleased to see Conor McGregor knockout their beloved mascot.

In fact, Burnie isn’t the only mascot who had to suffer a brutal assault from one of the biggest athletes in the world. During a time when Charles Barkley still played in the NBA, he had a violent relationship with the Denver Nuggets mascot, Rocky. On several occasions, the Hall of Famer battered the mountain lion.

However, the Chuckster recently made amends with the fan-favorite Rocky. McGregor used similar tactics to put his name forward once again. Yet the response was very different for the ‘Notorious’ one.

Heat Nation wasn’t happy to see their mascot go down

The loud boos during McGregor’s exit from the center stage made the sentiments of the Heat fans very clear. They were unhappy with the antics that had unfolded. And even the fans on Twitter shared those exact feelings. Some called out the former two-division UFC champion for landing a second punch on the already down mascot.

Some fans weren’t on board with the choice of entertainment by their franchise.
