The recently drafted young hoops stars have taken the center stage in basketball circles ever since the NBA held the 2023 draft on Thursday. Besides, rumors about star players? future have also gained traction among the NBA community this off season. Apparently, the Denver Nuggets‘ maiden championship win has arguably become a story of the past, at least for some. Unsurprisingly, that is not the case for Nikola Jokic‘s wife. She just gave a shout-out to her NBA champion husband.

Natalija Jokic’s recent tribute becomes all the more interesting as it has a connection to Nikola Jokic’s love for horses and horse riding. Not only that – Natalija has acknowledged the feats of the fellow Serbian and Tennis veteran Novak Djokovic as well in her recent tribute.

On June 12, Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets to their first ever championship win. While doing so, the two-time MVP had also seized the much-coveted NBA Finals MVP award. A day before Jokic’s historic feat, fellow Serbian Novak Djokovic won his fourth French Open title.

While the two champions were going at it in their respective courts, they had exchanged words of admiration. Djokovic adulated Jokic’s triple-double record and said he hopes the Joker wins a ring. Meanwhile, Jokic remarked that Djokovic is an idol for Serbians, especially children.

Given this equation between the two champs, Natalija Jokic has surely given a fitting tribute to both. She has shared a painting of an artist named Aladin Tabakovic on her Instagram story. In the painting, Nikola Jokic and Novak Djokovic could be seen riding on a horse cart.

Nikola Jokic’s Larry O’Brien trophy and the NBA Finals MVP trophy, and Novak Djokovic’s Roland Garros trophy, could also be seen in the carriage.

Given Nikola Jokic’s admiration towards horse riding, what better ride than a horse cart can any artist choose??

Nikola Jokic’s horse riding claim

Shortly after winning the NBA ring by defeating the Miami Heat in Game 5, Nikola Jokic went candid about his passion for horse racing. During an NBA TV interview after Game 5, the hosts asked Jokic how his upcoming weeks will go and pointed out that he soon has to partake in the championship parade in Denver.

But Jokic seemed to be more concerned about horse racing than the parade. ?On Sundays, I have my horse racing. I don?t know how we?ll arrive. Thursday, parade. Friday, maybe,? said Nikola Jokic.
