The countdown for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup has begun, with only 30 days left, the United States women’s national team roster was finally released on Wednesday. Team USA will fight for the title with head coach Vlatko Andonovski who will head to the host nations of Australia and New Zealand with 23 players to fight for soccer’s most prestigious crown. The squad announcement was made in a very unique manner, one can say in a very Shaquille O’Neal way.

The USWNT posted a video of the official squad announcement on Twitter, and the video starts with a congratulatory message from President Joe Biden and the first lady. The video featured some popular guests like Shaquille O’Neal, Issa Rae, Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, Blake Lively, and many more. Now as an NBA analyst Shaq is known for his humor around the league, and when he had to announce the name of the player selected for the world cup squad, then who else would it be other than his worst teammate’s daughter? If you’ve been around the game for some time then you would know it has to be Dennis Rodman‘s daughter Trinity Rodman. Taylor Swift announced the 2x world cup winner Alex Morgan in a very beautiful and detailed message. However, the former Lakers legend did it in his Shaq way, he said, “Trinity Rodman, welcome to your first world cup, go kick some a**, bring back that victory, GO USA.” Trinity Rodman will play her first world cup next month. Rodman made her international debut in a 0-0 draw against Czech Republic in 2022. She plays forward for the Washington Spirit. Will this tell that the feud between Shaq and “the worm” is over?

Why did Shaq hate Dennis Rodman?

Shaq has played with some interesting players in his time in the league. We all know about his feud with Kobe Bryant, who wasn’t always the easiest teammate to get along with, but Shaq has long voiced regret for how he and Bryant handled their relationship as young superstars and later became one of Bryant’s biggest supporters.

In his Podcast ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, when he was asked who was his worst teammate ever, he collected his thoughts and answered in a few moments. However, he explained why he hated Rodman so much. He said, “He was a great player, but he made it hard. Like when you try to corral the guys together and the people above you [are] letting this one guy do whatever he wants. So we had to be there an hour before the game. He’d come in fifteen minutes before the game eating chicken and rice. While the coaches are talking, he would jump in the shower. Cold shower. Come and give you 15-20 rebounds.”

So, Shaq announcing Trinity’s name mean he may not hate his father so much to even avoid calling her name. Shaq is a big man with an even bigger heart. We hope he has ended the feud with Rodman now.
