It has only been a week since Shaquille O’Neal made his hip-hop comeback with the track Th***ies Hit the Floor. Fans have been celebrating the Diesel’s much-awaited hip-hop return ever since. However, the iconic comeback might not have been possible without the legacy of the iconic rock band Drowning Pool.

Last month, a snippet of Shaquille O’Neal’s latest freestyle rap hit Instagram prompting a plethora of fans to go gaga over the Diesel. Fans’ excitement doubled as they saw the rap sensations Scar Lip and Lex Bratcher featured in the track. Few days back, the 4x-NBA champion has posted Th***ies Hit the Floor on TikTok and YouTube. Anyhow, O’Neal’s latest banger would not have become a reality if it weren’t for Drowning Pool’s Bodies.

DJ Diesel’s Tho***ies Hit the Floor samples the vocals of Drowning Pool’s 2001 song Bodies from the album Sinner. The Big Aristotle has used the iconic nu-metal song Bodies as a backing track in his latest freestyle hip-hop offering, according to a recent report on maniacsonline.com. Besides, Shaq’s banger also has an uncanny resemblance to Megan Thee Stallion’s cult hit T**t Sh*t. In Shaq’s song, Scar Lip spits a verse from Megan Thee Stallion’s T**t Sh*t. Besides, the beat also resembles Megan Thee Stallion’s iconic song.

Shaquille O’Neal’s illustrious hip-hop stint

With the release of his latest freestyle track, Shaq has not only paid a subtle homage to other iconic tracks like Bodies and T**t Sh*t, but has also kept his illustrious hip-hop legacy alive. The Lakers legend’s debut album Shaq Diesel was certified platinum. Moreover, he had collaborated with the late East Coast hip-hop icon Biggie Smalls. The Diesel has also collaborated with the legendary Michael Jackson as a guest rapper in his song 2Bad.

As O’Neal has now dropped bars over the nu-metal hit Bodies, he has shed light on his affinity towards rock music. Fans will now be waiting for the Lakers veteran to drop more bangers and carry on with his endless pursuit of entertaining the crowd.
