NFL star Tom Brady gave a pep talk to Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant. In the latest episode of Let’s Go! podcast, Brady invited Durant to have a talk about always staying in your best shape, learning more from the greatest players in other sports, and so on. The duo went on to have a brief chat wherein Brady even gave some advice to KD, on how to not lose yourself completely while balancing your work and life.

As Durant entered his 15th NBA season, he was asked how he dealt with the expectations that people have of him. KD replied that he just holds himself to a certain level every day and that it has worked for him to date. Durant said that the reason he has been successful in every team he has joined is that he follows a routine. Furthermore, Durant added that he tries to be on the same page as his coaches but also has enough faith in himself. To sum it up, he makes sure to stay on top of his game.

When asked how he takes it to be the best player in the world, KD replied, “I don’t look at it that way, I feel like I’m mastering my craft. I wanna be the best version of myself. Every time I step on the court, I wanna be able to do everything on a basketball court. So if the best player in the world comes with that, that’s cool but I’m chasing something different everyday.”

Tom Brady admires Kevin Durant

During the podcast session, Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Tom Brady praised Kevin Durant for his ability to focus no matter what. Brady talked about KD’s competitive personality and commended him for always giving his best on the court. In response, KD said that while he was always excited about playing on the court with his teammates, it has become a ‘mental obstacle’ in trying to figure out the best possible way to balance his work and life.

“The reality is, when it comes down to it, your competitiveness takes over and as much as you wanna have this playful balance with the work balance, you’re gonna end up doing exactly what you’ve always done,” Brady told KD.

Furthermore, Brady’s co-host recalled that the NFL star used to study Michael Jordan and grew up having MJ’s poster on his wall. The host further asked now that Brady has studied several great athletes, such as Kevin Durant and LeBron James, what are the pointers that he got from them.

Brady replied, “Certainly when I look up to people like KD, you know. What does he do that I find so endearing as a fan who loves his, not just his basketball style but his personality too you know? I think he is just so authentic to who he is on and off the court. I feel like, he holds his teammates to a very high standard.”
