NBA legend Charles Barkley has never shied away from speaking his mind. While his opinions can sometimes be polarizing, Barkley always comes off as a genuine and honest man. Although, there is one person about whom his stance never changes; Tom Brady. Barkley has often stated his appreciation for the 7x Super Bowl Champion. Brady has been the talk of the town since he announced his retirement a few days ago. Barkley was recently asked whether Brady’s career accomplishments were better than LeBron James‘ accomplishments. As usual, the NBA Hall of Famer honestly answered the question.
Barkley recently appeared on the ‘Dan Patrick Show’ where he was asked this question. It is obvious that Barkley is a massive fan of Brady. He once revealed that Brady was his man crush, and he picked the 3x NFL MVP over Hollywood star Chris Evans as the ‘Sexiest Man Alive‘. However, this time it was all about Brady’s on-field accomplishments.

“Tom Brady. I think we should appreciate Tom Brady more,” Barkley said confidently. He explained, “Numer 1: 10 Super Bowls is incredible. But the thing that’s crazy why I put football accomplishments ahead of basketball accomplishments is you know, every game in the NFL is a one-game you out and you’re done.”
Barkley mentioned that the NBA Playoffs structure allowed great players to be successful. However, in the case of the NFL, every game is a win-or-go-home situation. He continued, “If you got Kareem, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe, LeBron, Michael you got the best player in every game. You can lose one game, you can lose two games, you can actually lose three games but to have every game be a game 7.”
Barkley said, “Every game in the NFL is a game 7. No matter how great your regular season was, to have every game be the end of your season and for this man to make it to 10 Super Bowls and win 7, it’s one of the greatest accomplishments in history.”

While NBA players play way more games than their NFL counterparts, the intensity and physicality in football are much greater than in the NBA. Barkley’s point that every game is a game 7 in NFL is valid, and one bad performance can result in the team getting knocked out. NBA allows teams and players to improve on their poor performances.
Barkley continued, “You can lose a bunch of games, but to have every game be a game 7; I think what Tom Brady accomplished, it’s arguably, his career is unparalleled.”
