NBA legend Magic Johnson does not only follow the NBA. He is a huge fan of major sports like football and baseball as well. With the NFL in its business end of the season, like most fans, Magic is seemingly very excited. He has been following the NFL playoffs closely and took to social media multiple times to share his opinion about some of the games. Johnson was not going to miss out on the Conference Championships. Moreover, it is safe to say the two games were completely different.
While the Philadelphia Eagles blew away the San Francisco 49ers to win the NFC, the Kansas City Chiefs edged past the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 to win the AFC. Superstar Patrick Mahomes played a huge part in the win and was compared with Magic Johnson.

During the AFC championship, Patrick Mahomes was compared with Magic Johnson for his impressive passing. The five-time NBA champion is as humble as anyone and stated that being compared to Mahomes was a compliment to him. He took to Twitter and wrote, “During the Chiefs vs. Bengals broadcast Tony Romo said AFC Champion QB Patrick Mahomes & I were similar in our passing ability, like the no-look pass. Thank you Tony for that special compliment!”
However, most fans were not in agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers legend’s statement. Here are some reactions:
@MagicJohnson you were my favorite player growing up and I am a Chiefs fan…Mahomes isn't there yet but he is getting closer!
