NFL legend Shannon Sharpe is known for his bold opinions on the air. Sharpe never holds back from handing it out to people the way he sees things. This time, with the case of Zion Williamson’s absence, it was no different.
On his show UNDISPUTED with Skip Bayless, Sharpe talked about Williamson missing more than half the games this season. He said, “You have played 114 games in four seasons, it’s not like we making this up.” This was in response to Williamson’s comment on people criticizing him for not being involved with the team and sitting out games.
Williamson had said earlier that people are wrong for thinking that he is willingly sitting out games. He said “It s*cks” to not be involved with the game that he loves.
Sharpe said that despite being overweight, Williamson is not focusing on himself. When he is out of the team for long swaths of time and not practicing actively, he is still eating the same. According to Sharpe, these things are bound to take a toll on an athlete’s body. The 2x NBA All-Star is often criticized for not being in shape like an NBA athlete is supposed to be. Other than that, he has been constantly called out for making excuses to not get back to his struggling team.
