With his 20th NBA season, LeBron James is the third-oldest active player in the league. He has been collecting awards and creating history with his amazing performances. His longevity is aspirational. His greatness will undoubtedly live on when he does finally retire. He has time and again talked about playing alongside his children in the league. However, LeBron James may have other plans as well.

In the latest episode of The Shop on TNF, James revealed he would love to play in the NFL. His interest in this league is not new. He has always been vocal about either paying for it or having ownership stakes in the NFL.
Regarding his interest in playing, James stated he “got the itch.” He still hasn’t let go of his dream of playing football. He also made it abundantly clear that he would be playing a wide receiver and his approach to the role and the game. LeBron wanted to be a red zone threat.
LeBron James reiterates his “itch” to play in the NFL
Talking about his interest in playing football, LeBron James said, “Yeah, yeah, I still got the itch to play. I got the itch, man.” He added, “Wide receiver, for sure. If I was in the red zone, especially in the red zone. One-on-one… me out there with one of those small lil’ cornerbacks. Just throw it up, just throw it up.”
Both Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks once approached the four-time NBA champion. However, he turned both of them down. He was confident that he could have made the team if he made an attempt. James asserted, “I just know what I am capable of doing on the football field. Especially at that age.”

James played football in high school. But he eventually chose to have a career in basketball. However, getting into professional football was always on his mind. Even a decade ago, he expressed his wish on Twitter. He wrote, “I wanna play one NFL game before it’s over”.
He described football as his first love. And LeBron even went on to say he loved football more than basketball.
