That was certainly the case for Jalen Hurts after a great performance for the Eagles against the New York Giants in the divisional playoff round.
Charles Barkley’s concern about Jalen Hurts

NBA legend Charles Barkley is a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles understandably because of his time with the Philadelphia 76ers. Barkley has been vocal about his support over the years. In the latest episode of The Steam Room Podcast, co-host Ernie Johnson was absent because of his mother’s passing. So producer Tim Kiley filled in as a co-host with Barkley. During the show, the two discussed a variety of things including football. The 1993 NBA MVP made his picks for the NFL divisional games.
Unsurprisingly, Barkley picked the Eagles to beat the New York Giants but he thought it would be a close game. He hoped Jalen Hurt’s shoulder is good. He said, “It’s going to be a close game. I’m going with my Eagles. I love coach Daboll. I hope Jalen’s shoulder is alright.”
A month back, Hurts sprained his throwing right shoulder during a game against the Chicago Bears. So there were some major concerns about his availability and performance against the Giants. Many were also worried about the Giants targeting his right shoulder. However, that did not stop the superstar.

Jalen Hurts compared with Michael Jordan
The game between the Philadelphia Eagles against the New York Giants was not close as Charles Barkley predicted. The Eagles took an early lead in the first quarter and did not look back. Jalen Hurts showed no signs of discomfort hitting wide receiver DeVonta Smith for 40 yards on the second snap of the game.

The Eagles won the game 38-7. After the game, head coach Nick Sirianni stated having Jalen on the team is like having Michael Jordan on their side. Sirianni added comparing Jalen with Jordan is the biggest he could pay to the quarterback. NBA superstar LeBron James was full of praises for Jalen on social media as well.
