The NFL team, Green Bay Packers‘ very own Aaron Rodgers is hailed as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the league’s history. The 39-year-old is known for his brilliant passing abilities, among many other things. It appears that greatness requires going to extra lengths as an interesting ritual followed by Rodgers has come to light, and NBA legend Charles Barkley had something to say about it.

Charles Barkley on Rodgers’ darkness retreat

The revelation came from the show ‘The Steam Room’ with Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley. The question “What’s up with Aaron Rodgers?” was posed to Barkley in the show. He said, “Yeah, he does this dark thing where he goes in darkness for like a long period of time to get clarity in his life“. Rodgers goes to a cave for 4 days and is in hiding in the dark as a way to recollect himself.

A tour video of Rodgers’ sky cave darkness retreat in Oregon was also posted on Twitter. The question was then asked to Charles Barkley if he would spend four days in a cave. To which he replied “Hell no” and said that maybe he can spend 2 hours at most in a dark cave.

The context of this conversation is that the tradition of Aaron Rodgers is bizarre and something which is unheard of. But it is understandable at the same time because athletes know what’s best for them. An athlete is always under pressure from all the entities involved in a game. They resort to things that work the best for them. In this case, Rodgers going into the dark for 4 days can be seen as him preparing for the next challenge.
