But his dream of owning an NFL franchise might be shattered with Magic Johnson and partners making a move themselves.

It all began when Bezos was reportedly blackballed from buying the Commanders. According to certain reports, Snyder prevented the former world’s richest man from entering a private auction for the franchise.

Synder was backed into the corner when a series of embarrassing allegations hurt the image of the NFL and the Commanders. The string of misery has brought rumors of him possibly selling the team before the 2023 NFL draft. And many of the biggest entrepreneurs are after it. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the first offer was put forth by a group led by Josh Harris and Mitchell Rales. This involves NBA legend Magic Johnson, who also has stakes in the LA Dodgers and LA Sparks.

Contending against the $600 million worth NBA legend came Steve Apostolopoulos. The Canadian billionaire recently matched the offer of $6 billion made by Magic Johnson and Co. The race for the Commanders continues to grow into a battle with Snyder reportedly stepping down. But where does all this leave Jeff Bezos you might ask?

The Amazon billionaire already has a step within the NFL office. Only a year ago, Amazon struck a $1 billion TV deal with the football league for Thursday Night Football. Hence, it only made sense for Jeff Bezos to take a step further and own an NFL team. However, it doesn’t seem like he will be buying an NFL team anytime soon.
