Every young player growing dreams of this scenario. Not just making it to the NBA, but also receiving the biggest accolades and recognition. While Zach LaVine wishes to hold aloft the MVP trophy one day, for now, he is content with making his first all-star game.
The confirmation came across on Tuesday; he is part of the All-Star reserves from the Eastern Conference. After being ignored for the past couple of seasons, he is finally here, courtesy of the Chicago Bulls competing for the Playoff places.

He is averaging 28.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists this NBA season. Ahead of his maiden appearance, he was recording a press conference with the Bulls media on zoom. Or so he thought.

They took him by surprise, with his parents instead on the call. After pulling himself back from the shock, LaVine was up for chatter with his parents.
“Let me ask you guys a question. Let’s switch it up. As far as we came through the ups and downs of childhood, what was the best part of growing up and working out with me?” LaVine asked his parents.
He thought he was doing a media call.

“It was just everyday grind. Just getting up and repeat the same thing every day, was fun. You know, trying to develop you as a young kid and just seeing stuff through. You were a good kid, you gave me a little trouble, but not too much,” in came the reply from his father.
Jamal Crawford joins the party and surprises Zach LaVine
Zach grew up idolizing Jamal Crawford. The two trained together while LaVine was growing up. So when Crawford came up on the screen, he was even more surprised. He then proceeded to give Crawford his props for helping him out.

“You have always been like a big brother to me, bro. Been able to pick your brain and come out and workout with you.”

He then remarked – “What kind of meeting is this and interview is this man! I was expecting a different kind of interview.”

It is just reward for a player who’s ground out in Chicago. This All-Star nod is hopefully just the beginning of other big things to come for him.
