Despite playing together for only 3 years, Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan shared a mutual respect for each other’s game. Rodman and Jordan were at odds for most of their careers as Rodman was part of the ‘Bad Boy’ Detroit Pistons team that had numerous heated battles against Jordan’s Bulls. However, when Rodman joined the Bulls in 1995, he understood his role and adjusted perfectly next to MJ and Scottie Pippen. Even though they won 3 championships in a row, Rodman once admitted during an interview with Graham Bensinger that he never talked to Jordan or Pippen.

That point was further established when Rodman took a lie detector test for ‘Overtime’ in 2019. He was asked why MJ always played with his tongue out. “I have no clue. You’ve got to ask his mother for that one,” Rodman replied straight away. However, the light turned red indicating that he was lying about it. Even after the host’s insistence, Rodman didn’t reveal the reason.
Dennis Rodman stayed true to his word
After the host asked him how he could not know about this despite sharing the same locker room with MJ for years, Rodman said, “We don’t talk about that sh*t man.” This led to Rodman saying an expletives-laden sentence which brought an end to the discussion.
Even though the light didn’t turn green at any point, Rodman stayed true to his word. It is actually quite believable that Rodman wouldn’t know about MJ’s iconic habit as he had various other things to worry about during his days with the Chicago Bulls.

MJ’s habit of sticking his tongue out while attacking the rim is well-known. He can be seen with his tongue out on most of his iconic dunks and plays during his career. But what was the reason for that?
In an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show in 1990, MJ revealed that he had learned this habit from his father. He even admitted to trying to stop the habit with the help of a mouthguard. However, that didn’t feel natural to him and he stopped using one.
