On the latest episode of the Throwing Bones show, Draymond Green named his top-five NBA players all time. His list looked somewhat like this: 1. LeBron James, 2. Michael Jordan, 3. Kobe Bryant, 4. Stephen Curry, and 5. Shaquille O’Neal. After giving his take, the four-time NBA champion explained why he picked LeBron James over Michael Jordan as the greatest to ever do it.
Draymond Green picked LeBron James over Michael Jordan
According to Green, the love for Michael Jordan is eternal. Certainly, everyone wants to be like him. He even pointed out that his jersey number (23) was inspired by Jordan’s number. Having said that, the four-time NBA Champion claimed that His Airness couldn’t pass the ball as well as LeBron James can.
Green further stated that the skillset of James and Jordan are similar. However, James has the upper hand because of his ability to pass the ball. He also highlighted that Jordan didn’t have to face the “greatest team ever assembled (the Warriors)“ four times in a row.
Green added that the four-time MVP has been the best since he was drafted in 2003. Since then, the game has evolved significantly and the talent pool in the league has improved drastically. Despite this, King James has always emerged as the best.
Following this, Green elaborated that LeBron James has faced the brunt of the grueling playoffs heat for years consistently. While bringing Jordan into the picture again, the former Defensive Player of the Year mentioned that “MJ took a break right in the heat of that s**t (playoffs and finals appearances).” Green also pointed out that LeBron James didn’t take a break, he simply kept going.
Fans infuriated by Draymond Green’s comments
After the episode was released, fans were quick to attack Draymond Green’s argument. To start off, some fans claimed that the Warriors star was embarrassing himself. Some even called for him to have more respect for his teammate Stephen Curry.
Fans then went on to remind Green that the reason Michael Jordan didn’t have to face the greatest team assembled was because he was in the greatest team during that era. Many even called him out for the comment he made about Michael Jordan taking a break. Here are some of the best reactions.
You’re embarrassing yourself Dray… And stop with the disrespect to Steph. 🙄

“MJ didn’t beat the greatest team ever assembled.”
Yeah because he WAS THAT.
Not to mention MJ never tried to play with the best, wing, guard, or big man in his conference. Give him and Kobe a little help you’re getting a ring. Meanwhile Bron fans wanted AD traded. 🤦♂️— Monsta (@MarcAndrewII) December 4, 2022
Jordan did more in his first 13 years than LeBron has done in his whole career. Jordan three peated before he missed a season………..LeBron has never done that after 20 years

I’m sorry Green is flat out wrong Jordan missed almost 3 full season & started playing in the NBA when he was 21 imagine if he didn’t miss his 2nd season & never missed those other 2 seasons in his prime! At least 2 more championships and another 5k to 6k points scored.
