Ja Morant is undoubtedly one of the best young players in the league with massive potential. Many believe he has what it takes to be one of the best players in the NBA. However, his actions off the court in the past few months have been detrimental to his image and possibly his career. While he awaits the verdict of the NBA regarding the latest gun controversy, he has received some support from a few players. After Draymond Green recently expressed his bewilderment at Ja, his teammate has now given his take on the situation.
The players did not condone Morant’s actions; however, they are worried about his future. They are upset that the Memphis Grizzlies star’s promising basketball career could derail because of his own decisions.

The Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies have been going at each other’s throats in the past couple of seasons. After the Warriors eliminated the Grizzlies in the playoffs on their way to the title last year, the rivalry continued in the regular season. However, that did not stop Draymond Green to express his honest opinion about the controversy. The four-time NBA champion claimed that NBA commissioner Adam Silver looked “crushed” by the incident.
Now, Green’s teammate Andre Iguodala has also talked about the whole ordeal. He discussed it during his Point Forward podcast with NBA veteran Evan Turner. Like Green, Iggy, and Turner were also worried about Morant’s future. The 2015 Finals MVP made it clear he does not support the point guard’s actions. He then talked about his conversation with the 2022 MIP after last year’s series.
Iguodala said, “I was having a conversation with Ja after that round and it was that post I have on my Instagram. It was the anniversary of that post. And I was saying, ‘You’re a God kid. You’re an image of God. You’re one of the greats. You’ve been gifted this responsibility to influence and inspire an entire generation.'”
