After defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in an intense OT game, the Lakers?will face the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night at the latter’s home court. While fans wait in anticipation, speculations surrounding the upcoming game have already begun making rounds on the internet. One such game prediction was recently made by a particular analyst with the intention of decreasing the ‘accusations’ that the league could face at the end of the series.

There have been several instances where fans found it hard to believe the outcome of a game or a match, simply because they hadn’t expected the loss or victory of a particular team. This leads them to assume that the matchup was ‘rigged’ and that’s what sports analyst Colin Cowherd is here to clarify.

The Los Angeles Lakers went through quite a rough patch when the season began. To make matters worse, LA’s star players LeBron James and Anthony Davis?were required to take a significant period of time off from the court due to injuries. However, the purple and gold team eventually got back on track and was able to secure a spot in the playoffs. As fans gear up for their matchup with the Grizzlies, analyst Colin Cowherd gave his thoughts on the upcoming game and made several predictions about both teams’ on-court performances.

Cowherd began by stating that the Lakers would get more free throws than Ja Morant‘s Grizzlies. The reason being AD and King James’ improved physical condition would allow both players and Austin Reaves to ‘create more contact’ and finish at the rim. Whereas, the Grizzlies would struggle in making free throw attempts due to the absence of Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke.

After calling Memphis ‘the worst in the league’, Cowherd added, “The Lakers are going to shoot about seven-eight-nine free throws more per game. And at the end of the series when the Lakers are at the line hitting their free throws and Memphis is at the line less and missing theirs, you’re going to say the series is rigged.”

Grizzlies’ weakness will work in the Lakers’ favor, says Cowherd

As Colin Cowherd continued to explain his predictions, he stated, “The Lakers, as LeBron and AD have gotten more healthier are now really an interior offense. They’re banging, they’re creating contact, they’re getting to the free throw line, they’re tough, and they’re doubling down on it now with Anthony Davis in.”

According to Cowherd, given that Adams and Clark are currently out due to their respective injury issues, it would allow Davis to make more free throws during the entire series against the Grizzlies.
