Ja Morant led the Memphis grizzlies to a flawless regular season. They managed to secure the second seed in the Western Conference. This season was a much better one than their previous outing where they made the play-in tournament. In the 2020-21 season, Memphis eliminated a short-handed Golden State Warriors team led by star player Stephen Curry. This sparked an exchange of words on social media between the two teams. In the 2021-22 playoffs, Golden State was the one to eliminate Memphis. The two teams battled it on the court and bantered off-court on social media.
Often, Ja Morant did his antagonizing taunt, called the ‘griddy’ when they defeated Golden State Warriors in a game. Right after, Stephen Curry retaliated with the same energy and hit them with a ‘Night-Night’ Celebration. Teammate Draymond and Ja followed this jawing at each other on Twitter Morant called curry his favorite match-up as he let everyone know that the feud was competitiveness and not controversy.

Will the Ja and the Warriors repartee ever end?
The warriors and Grizzlies saga started when Jaren Jackson Jr tweeted ‘strength in numbers’ mocking the warriors’ motto. Klay Thompson waited a whole year to clap back at the Grizzly. Thompson called Jackson “that freaking bum”.
The warriors were all keeping their receipts for what was said about them during their decline. They were quick to climb back as they won their 4th NBA Championship with the Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson core.
But what about the time when Steph was gonna “whoop that trick” https://t.co/j9gVH8iEaS

It appears that the Twitter rivalry is a never-ending one. Moreover, NBA analysts project the Warriors and Grizzlies to meet again in the playoffs next season. This time, the matchup would be more entertaining, with all the social media banter. The 2022-23 season will involve a lot of trash talking. Memphis Grizzlies might want to back all their talk by defeating the Warriors with a healthy Ja Morant this time. Furthermore, the Warriors would want to extend their dynasty and teach the youngster to put respect to their name.
