Many fans consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest player of all time. Jordan played in the 80s and 90s with the Chicago Bulls. He retired with 6x NBA championships and 6x NBA finals MVPs, and a host of awards and historical achievements. After changing the fortunes of Chicago, MJ became the face of the franchise.
However, many fans are unaware of this intriguing Michael Jordan story despite knowing about his exploits on the court. Incidentally, Jordan once called the famous Olive Garden restaurant regarding a teammate’s future with the Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls drafted Michael Jordan in the 1984 NBA draft. After his arrival, the Bulls became a relevant franchise in the league. Jordan beat all expectations and had a historic career?with the Bulls for over a decade. MJ brought six championships to the city through his on-court excellence. But little is known about Jordan’s involvement with the roster construction and team management behind the scenes.
Jordan had a storied career both on and off the court. One of his lesser-known stories includes him calling a famous restaurant chain and asking them for his teammate Brad Sellers who the Bulls drafted two seasons after.

The 1986 draft was a very controversial draft for the Chicago Bulls. Many team fans wanted the Bulls to draft Johnny Dawkins, the guard from Duke. But the Bulls instead drafted the 7-footer Brad Sellers from Ohio state, who had a very average college career. The fans did not like the move. Brad Sellers turned out to be not the player the Bulls had expected him to be.
Michael Jordan called Olive Garden to talk to his teammate
The following year the Bulls drafted Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant. With the addition of those two, Sellers’ career with the Bulls became uncertain. The 7-footer knew he wouldn’t be part of the team much longer. Thus, he wanted out and asked Jordan for help. “You got to go in there and tell them that this is not going to work for me here,” Sellers told Jordan.
?You really want me to do that?? Jordan asked the 7-footer. Sellers was certain of his decision, and thus Jordan agreed to help him.?

The next day as Sellers was enjoying a meal at Olive Garden, he was interrupted by the restaurant manager. “Michael Jordan’s on the phone.”?Jordan had called the restaurant after tracking down Sellers. MJ told him over the phone that the team would trade Sellers to Seattle the next day, “They’re trading you to Seattle tomorrow. Good luck, B.”
Sellers only played half a season with the Seattle Supersonics before getting traded to Minnesota. He regretted the decision down the line, “I was young and dumb.”?Sellers has been the mayor of his hometown for the past decade.?
