NBA star Ja Morant got a foul for asking a question. The incident took place during the Memphis Grizzlies game against the Boston Celtics. The NBA All-Star apparently asked one of the referees a question mid-game. Following that, the referee called out a technical foul on Morant. The Grizzlies faced the Celtics at FedExForum on November 7, 2022.

The Grizzlies suffered their fourth loss of the season on Monday night. However, that wasn’t the only highlight of the game. In the first half of the game, Morant received a technical foul. Apparently, Morant asked the referee if he was playing FanDuel, and immediately after, the ref gave a foul to the Grizzlies’ point guard.

FanDuel is an online gambling company that allows its players to bet on several sports including horse racing. While gambling is still frowned upon by many, it has gradually started making its way into the digital sports market.

Ja Morant faces a fine due to a technical foul

The Boston Celtics beat the Memphis Grizzlies by 109-106 on Monday night. Celtics forward Jayson Tatum scored an impressive 39 points with 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Fellow teammate Jaylen Brown added 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. On the other hand, Ja Morant scored his team’s highest with 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. Behind him was Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane, who scored 19 points with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Besides having to face a loss, Morant is also entitled to pay a fine of $2000 due to the foul. A short clip of the incident has already gone viral on Twitter. Evidently, fans gave mixed reactions to the whole matter. However, almost everyone felt that Morant deserved the tech.

The Memphis Grizzlies are off to a good start so far this season. They are currently 5th in the Western Conference with an 8-4 record so far. The Celtics sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference with an 8-3 record for the season till now.
