The 2023 NBA All-Star weekend surely had its ups and downs. The world got to see many notable legends make an appearance during the weekend. The Jordan Rising Star challenge had new twists and turns to make it more interesting. And even the Slam Dunk contest had air breathed into its lungs. However, despite disappointing feedback from many coaches and analysts, this was still the best night of his life for this Hollywood star’s son.

Apart from notable legends, a lot of known celebrities were in attendance for the All-Star weekend and its events. Simu Liu, Fat Joe, Jonathan Majors, Michael B. Jordan, and Janelle Monae were spotted sitting courtside.

Ben Affleck’s son starstruck after seeing Shaq

One other known Hollywood veteran was Ben Affleck along with his son. Recently the ‘Batman V Superman’ actor appeared on the show ‘Throw It Down’ with Boston Celtics legend Bill Walton.

While talking to Walton, Affleck mentioned how this All-star game was the best night of his son’s life. He said, “So I took my son to the All-Star game and it’s like, my son is a huge basketball fan.”

“I realized, I watched him, he’s 11 years old and was like, he was on Mount Olympus. You know what I mean? Look, there’s Apollo, you know. It’s really like, Giannis. There’s Sooks, Shaq, you know he couldn’t believe it like Dwyane Wade.”

“He was like, do you know him, do you know Shaq? And it was so nice like all the players were so kind. And at the end, this kid ran all the way home and was like, ‘Dad that was the best day of my life,’” added Affleck.

The best way to honor the late Kobe Bryant

This year’s NBA All-Star game was deemed uninteresting by many around the globe. Even the head coaches gave up on the game, calling it ‘unfixable.’ This was due to the lack of defense during the game.

Players showed no interest in making it a more competitive game, letting their fellow All-Stars get away with almost everything. 3x Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford too gave his two cents on this predicament.

Crawford mentioned how players giving it their all in the All-Star game would be the best way to honor the Late Kobe Bryant. Since the MVP award was named after him after his untimely death.
