The Brooklyn Nets might not have started the season quite the way they wanted. They only won twice in their first eight games of the regular season. However, despite the absence of Kyrie Irving, the Brooklyn Nets seemed to be playing good basketball of late, winning four out of their last seven games. Fans will be hoping the team can get back on track as soon as possible.

Recently, Shaquille O’Neal shared his thoughts on a possible playoff run for the Brooklyn Nets in the future. The Hall of Famer also seemed to see a ray of hope for the Nets with the help of Simmons, Durant, and the reintroduction of Irving in the squad.

Shaquille O’Neal recently opened up on the ‘NBA on TNT’ show about the future of the Brooklyn Nets. He went on to say how the team looks great on paper with three of the biggest players in the league, namely Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons. The Big Diesel seemed to put his odds on the future performances of Ben Simmons. He further expressed that with the reintroduction of Irving in the squad, they would be a contender for the playoffs.

Shaq advised them to stick together as a team despite any interferences. He further said, “You have to go through trials and tribulations with each other to have a chance to win.”?Ben Simmons has largely come off the bench for the Nets in recent games and is yet to showcase his potential this season. Fans will be hoping he can regain his form soon.

The Nets were blown away 153-121 in their latest loss to the Sacramento Kings. The Nets are now 6-9 for the season. Simmons scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 20 minutes on the court. Kevin Durant led his team once again with 27 points, but it was not nearly enough in the end.

The questionable return of Kyrie Irving to the Brooklyn Nets

Kyrie Irving, one of the most valuable players for the Brooklyn Nets, received a ban for at least five games from the franchise a couple of weeks back, due to his controversial sharing of a link to a film that had antisemitic tropes. ?According to the ban, the point guard should have returned to the court on last Sunday. However, it is unclear whether Irving has fulfilled the several tasks laid out by the Nets that he must complete in order to return to the team.

Therefore, it seems like Kyrie Irving has to do some more work for his return to be possible. This delay in his return will likely impact how the Brooklyn Nets and its stars perform on the court without him.
