It has not been so long since Ja Morant became the talk of the town in the hoops world for all the wrong reasons. Earlier this year, the Memphis Grizzlies star received a lot of backlash after he went live on Instagram from a Denver-based nightclub and flashed a gun. The gun controversy landed Ja in deep trouble with the NBA and his team, resulting in an investigation and subsequent suspension. Hardly two months later, the Memphis guard has triggered another gun controversy in a similar manner. Seeing Ja land in hot waters once again, Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett relayed some important advice to the youngster.

Lots of NBA veterans advised Morant to stay away from controversies during his first gun controversy. Now Ja has been again seen on Instagram live, holding what appeared to be a gun for a split second. That was enough for the NBA world to go crazy once again.

On Saturday, Ja Morant appeared in an Instagram live session recorded by his friend. Ja and two others, including the user who posted the live, were seen driving around in the live video. Morant was at the wheel and was also seen to be holding a gun in his hand for a split second. The friend immediately moved the camera after spotting Morant dancing with the gun in his hand. But the damage was already done.

The clip went viral on all social media platforms. After coming across Ja’s latest antic, the Memphis Grizzlies suspended him. It has also been reported that Ja could face a lengthy suspension this time.

Kevin Garnett was quick to notice and comment on this latest incident involving the 23-year-old star. Garnett and fellow Celtics legend Paul Pierce weighed in on the controversy in the recent episode of KG Certified.?The two Celtics veterans appeared seemingly upset with the young NBA star.

KG soon started to relay some advice to the youngster. “You gotta always remember, man, how you want to be remembered. And when you step out into the real world, how you want people to perceive you and that’s a real perception. Because you got daughters, you got family, you got mom, you got people that you representing that you don’t even know you representing,” Garnett said.

“You know what I’m saying so you just got to be mindful what he’s doing,”?KG added. As things stand now, Ja Morant will receive more? backlash as a lengthy suspension is looming around the All-Star guard.

Tumultuous days ahead for Ja Morant

Following the latest escapade, the Memphis side has suspended Ja Morant from all team activities. The NBA will soon investigate the matter. As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 23-year-old could be suspended for a longer period. The NBA is yet to investigate and confirm if the allegations on Ja holding a weapon are valid. If found valid, Morant is likely not to start with the Memphis side in the upcoming season on the back of a long suspension.
