Shaquille O’Neal is a multiple-time NBA champion. He has won Final MVPs, scoring awards, and the regular season MVP. So, he knows a thing or two about having tiffs and talking trash. Draymond Green has just won the NBA title this year, but there was no respite on Twitter.
Green has been engaging in quite a bit of trash-talking after the NBA Finals victory. He has targeted Memphis Grizzlies star, Ja Morant. The beef went so far that Morant threatened Draymond over Twitter. He said, “im coming to you then. Tell em book dat s—t I’m on yo block” Memphis fans and Golden State fans have been hurling insults at each other on social media. Now, “Big Aristotle” Shaquille O’Neal has weighed in on this fight when he was asked about it in his podcast.

O’Neal said, “Draymond lives in a mansion. There is no block”. This was hilarious to co-host Nischelle Turner and guest Dennis Scott. “If he comes to the block, he gonna be arrested by the neighborhood police, that’s what’s gonna happen,” said the former Lakers big man. He joked that the neighborhood watch would inform Draymond Green about a “J A Morant“.
But in the end, O’Neal mentioned that Ja has the right to talk trash. The season and the parade are over and according to Shaq, this is the time for trash-talking. And Morant can justify his trash talk.
The Twitter beef between Ja Morant and Draymond Green
All of this began when Klay Thompson claimed that Jaren Jackson’s regular-season tweet about Memphis beating Golden State spurred him on. Thompson claimed that the phrase “strength in numbers” that Jackson had written on Twitter bothered him.
Morant merely wrote, “Got a lot of real estate,” in response to Thompson’s remarks. It implied that he believed the Grizzlies were in the Warriors’ minds. Green replied to Morant because he didn’t like that.

Green tweeted in response, “We traded that real estate in Ja Morant the property value was higher in Boston.” The insults continued after that. Morant first recommended the match be in Memphis when a fan offered the Grizzlies and Warriors play on Christmas. Green argued that the Warriors get to host because they are the winners. Morant seems to concur.

The Grizzlies and the Warriors’ bad blood didn’t end after the Conference semi-finals. The Grizzlies were defeated in six by the Warriors during that series. But it was not before the Grizzlies handed the Warriors a very heavy defeat in the fifth game. Their future games will be interesting, to say the least.
