The offseason has sparked several trade rumors in this short time. League-shaking moves such as Bradley Beal joining the Phoenix Suns have already rocked the fans. But the focus remains on the polarizing figure of Zion Williamson. Several reports claim the New Orleans Pelicans might pull the plug on the 2019 NBA Draft first-overall pick. His difficulties in staying healthy as well as the off-court drama seem to have pushed the franchise to the edge. However, a certain Boston Celtics legend put those ideas on pause. Dragging in the likes of Charles Barkley and Shawn Kemp, he asked the organization to ‘stay patient’.

So far, Williamson’s career has been derailed by injuries. Over three seasons, he has only played 114 games. Currently, the Pelicans are on the road to elevate into a postseason team. To make it possible, they are eyeing a star who can be a regular starter.

The 22-year-old’s off-court troubles with adult star Moriah Mills have stunned the NBA world as well. The culmination of injuries and such reports has reportedly led to the Pelicans exploring trade opportunities for Williamson.

Discussing the matter on the ‘Ticket and The Truth’, Kevin Garnett was enraged at the situation. He berated the Pelicans for entertaining offers for Zion Williamson. He called the 22-year-old a “generational talent” while boasting about his explosiveness.

This prompted Paul Pierce to disagree, naming Charles Barkley and Shawn Kemp as better talents than Williamson. But it’s safe to say KG was not riding that boat. “He’s f*****g crazy. You ain’t seen a no m**********r 285, this powerful, this agile. You ain’t seen nothing like this dog. Stop man, stop.”

The Big Ticket also believes both Barkley and Kemp couldn’t match the explosiveness of Williamson. If we put his health aside, the two-time All-Star has genetics that NBA has rarely seen. He is strong, has a wide frame, and can out-muscle some of the most fierce. Yet he can fly through the air to throw down windmill dunks. In his short career, Zion Williamson has proved to be one of the most daunting forwards when healthy.
