NBA superstar Ja Morant is facing stern action from the league after reportedly flashing a gun during a social media post again. Notably, a few weeks back, Morant was suspended for eight games for flashing a gun during an Instagram Live. So, when he did it again, it stirred major controversy. The Memphis Grizzlies star received a lot of criticism from every direction for his action.
The Grizzlies suspended Morant from all team activities immediately after the incident. The team revealed that the suspension is pending a league review and declined to comment further. However, a $160 million-worth rapper has given his honest take on the whole thing.

Rapper Lil Wayne is a huge basketball fan and has been seen multiple times watching games courtside. The rapper recently made an appearance on the All The Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. During the show, Wayne talked about the latest Ja Morant gun incident. The five-time Grammy Award winner stated that he tried to put himself in Morant’s shoes to understand the necessity to flash a gun. He then talked about his younger years when he first started earning a lot of money and how he took care of his friends.
Wayne then noted that friends and associates might not criticize the “breadwinner” of the group. So, he felt that comments from him or others about the point guard could be hard to get through. He also slammed the people on TV criticizing Morant despite only knowing him as a basketball star. Wayne then talked about the 2022 MIP’s early life.

Weezy added that he still ended up a “knucklehead” despite coming from a well-raised household where his mother worked hard to make sure everything was perfect for him. So, he argued that people should not expect too much from Morant. Furthermore, he said that given the young star’s rise from a small town, he understands Ja’s actions.

Ja Morant recently broke his silence after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s comment about the situation. In his statement, the two-time NBA All-Star stated that he takes full accountability for his actions. Furthermore, he promised that he will continue to work on himself.
