Ja Morant‘s trajectory this season has been quite intriguing, to say the least. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar was in the MVP conversations in the early months of the season. However, after indulging in some off-court controversies, Morant ended up in a lot of hot water. In the reel shared by Shaq, Morant can be seen saying, “You don’t realize you’re drowning when you’re trying to be everyone else’s anchor. Sometimes you gotta, you know, put yourself first, like your health no matter what it is like.”
“I’m always making sure everybody else straight but sometimes I gotta, you know, worry about myself,” the Grizzlies star added.
This comes just weeks after Shaq had brutally bashed Morant following his ‘gun’ incident. The two-time NBA All-Star seemingly displayed a firearm during an Instagram live session. Subsequently, the league launched an investigation into the matter and suspended Morant for eight games. Shaq had labeled the entire incident as ‘dumb’. Moreover, he also asserted that Ja Morant has no excuses for his mistake, while questioning his actions.
