Whenever anyone thinks of the Chicago Bulls, they can?t help but associate Michael Jordan with it. Michael Jordan likely automatically comes to mind when one thinks of the Chicago Bulls. By far one of the most iconic players in the history of the NBA, it is hard to think of Jordan playing for another team or in any other jersey than the Bulls.?

However, that did happen as Jordan did end up playing for the Washington Wizards. After completing his second three-peat with the Chicago Bulls, MJ retired for the second time from the NBA, before making a final comeback.

After calling it quits following the 1998 NBA season, Jordan came back to the game in a Washington Wizards jersey. Many saw it as a return to the old Michael Jordan playing days but it seemed as if age had finally caught up to him.?
Even though Jordan averaged 22.9 PPG, his first season with the Wizards, the season was riddled with injuries. He only ended up playing 60 games with Washington, the fewest games he had played since his return from his first retirement during the 1994-95 season.?
Jordan?s prime days may have been behind him but he was still putting up arguably good numbers. But no matter how well he did on the court, the Wizards were unable to make it to the playoffs in those two seasons.
And even though Michael Jordan was putting up considerable numbers night in and night out, fans dubbed his second return to the NBA as a failure. During an interview with Stuart Scott in 2010, Jordan talked about his experience with the Washington Wizards.
He shed light on how his time was with the Wizards during the two seasons he was there. When asked about his experience with the Wizards, Jordan said, ?A lot of people look at that as a failure, I don?t.? MJ went on to elaborate how when people think about that time, the first thing that comes to mind is a former number one draft pick, Kwame Brown.?

Brown was drafted right out of high school in 2001 but arguably did not live up to the hype of being the number one overall pick.
Jordan further explained,??There?s no clear-cut understanding or reason that you don?t make mistakes in the draft pick.?

However, Jordan mentioned that the Wizards were able to clear off some cap space. They were able to sign big names like Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antwan Jamison and also make the playoffs after that as well.?
Jordan?s Wizards stint may not have been like his old days, but he sure had some magic left in the tank.?
