?You Don?t Have Any Guy Friends??: Dennis Rodman Thought He Was Gay Just Because He Hung Out With Two Very Important Women in His Life

NBA legend Dennis Rodman has one wildlife during his NBA career. He was one of the most entertaining players on the court and he has a wild outside the court. In an interview in 1996, he revealed something which no one would have expected about him. He said when he was a kid, he used to hang out with his sisters a lot and this made him confused about his sexuality. He initially thought he was gay, and he did not have any guy friends.

Rodman did not grow up with a male figure in his house as his dad decided to leave them when he was a kid. And he was constantly with his mother and his two sisters and he hung out with them until he was in his teen years. And he thought he was gay at that time.

Dennis Rodman says he felt very insecure during that time

Rodman was on the Oprah Winfrey show where he was talking about several things, including his childhood. Oprah showed him an old photo of Rodman with his mom and his two sisters. She asks if he was shy or insecure at that time. He says,” I was very shy, very insecure. I felt that when I was 14, 15, I was gay because I hung around my sisters a lot and everyone is like do you have any friends. ‘No’ “

He also said that people used to call his mean words, but he dealt with it. And felt comfortable hanging out with his sisters and mother a lot and not having any men examples in the household.

Rodman adds,” My father left when I was yay tall. Today I still have them, man speak of my life… I have to be my own man, my own provider… I don’t even consider having a father because I don’t even know him really,”

Rodman’s father was in the Philippines at that time and he said that his dad was proud of him now. But he questions how he can be proud of someone if they don’t even know them. Rodman mentioned that he doesn’t hate the man, but he doesn’t think he can have a relationship with him.

Rodman was glad that he had his sisters and mother in his life. Even though that gave him a complex when he was young.
