There were very few in the history of the NBA who would dare to take on Michael Jordan. Players knew to think twice before messing with Jordan as he had a history of destroying players. However, this former New Knicks star not only got into it with Jordan, but he also humiliated him in the presence of Tiger Woods and others.

Back in the day, Jordan was highly respected, and he was known for burning his opponents. But former New York Knicks star Chris Childs did not care about any of this and he nearly got into it with Jordan.

The Knicks and the Chicago Bulls were heated rivals back in the day. And this incident happened during a highly contested match between the two teams. Childs and Jordan were both vying for position under the basket. When MJ was trying to overpower Childs, he ends up hitting him in the head.

This triggered Childs, and he was ready to swing. Childs had already three concussions in the season and he did not like Jordan hitting his head. After the shot attempt, Childs caught the ball and shoved it at Jordan.

Michael Jordan was irate, and he rushed to confront Chris Childs. However, Childs seemed ready for him and he locked up Jordan. It was only after the refs and teammates pulled him apart that he let him go. Despite this, the two players seemed to bury the hatchet, and they even played golf together.

Recently, Childs was talking about he the incident and he explained his side of things. He jokingly said that if he had hit Jordan, he would be still suspended to this date. That was the level of power Jordan had in the NBA.

He also told a story about how Scottie Pippen tried to get both of them to work it out. He said, ” Scottie had a bet of cigars with Worldwide West that when I came out of the locker room, I was gonna shake his hand.”

“It was Worldwide West, Scottie, Oak was there, Tiger Woods was there, and somebody else I can’t remember. And I came out and then Mike came out. He tried to shake my hand, and I’m like, ‘Man you can keep that b***h, I?ll see you in New York.'”

Childs adds that everyone who was there was stunned. They could not believe that he was actually serious about it and turned down Jordan’s handshake. Especially in front of his friend and legendary golfer, Tiger Woods.

Over his career, Jordan would have angered a lot of players, but there are very few who confronted him about it and went toe to toe with him.
