The aftermath of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final overshadowed the greatness of the women who displayed amazing skills throughout the month. Even though the LSU Tigers clinched the National Championship, the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese post-game saga took over the sports world. The ball fans and several analysts went gaga over the series of concerns after the game. However, the NBA legend Charles Barkley stomped on the issue and made a harsh remark about the unnecessary attention surrounding the two rising stars.

Several controversies emerged after the March Madness Final. Firstly, the fans questioned the officiating of the game as the refs made a few controversial foul calls. Secondly, the fans were upset about Angel Reese’s hand gestures toward Caitlin Clark during the last quarter of the game. Lastly, Reese’s ugly reactions to Clark and Iowa’s invite to the White House. While the brewing rivalry was ready to explode, Barkley shut it down with a brutal remark.

In the recent podcast episode of The Steam Room, Charles Barkley opened up on the aftermath of the March Madness Final. The Phoenix Suns legend appreciated the heroics of the Tigers and lauded the efforts of Iowa, but he slammed the antics of the rising stars. He said, “Everything that’s happened after the games was total bullsh*t.”

He blamed both Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese for taking the competition outside the court. Especially, he condemned the media for blowing it out of proportion. He said that the media often tries to paint various narratives on an issue. Chuckster also exclaimed that it worked well this time. He added, “You [Media] bring stupidity into the equation and the noise just gets louder.

He further blamed the media for diverting public attention toward an unnecessary issue instead of celebrating the greatness of LSU and Caitlin Clark. Barkley admitted to being very impressed with the women’s tournament this year and showered praise on Clark and LSU head coach, Kim Mulkey.

The White House Saga

More problems arose when FLOTUS Jill Biden brought forward a proposal, inviting the runners-up, Iowa Hawkeyes, to the White House along with the National Champions. In response to the statement, Reese dissented it with a tweet. She wrote, “A JOKE,” after retweeting Biden’s statement. Following her tweet, the media and fans were all over it. However, Clark put an end to the show when she expressed her wish not to visit the White House as a runner-up.

Eventually, President Joe Biden invited only the LSU Tigers along with the Men’s National Champions, the UConn Huskies. We’ll have to wait and see how Reese reacts after meeting the President and his wife.
