Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan have captivated the headlines ever since making their relationship official. They have quickly become one of the most popular pairings in the basketball realm. However, the reason behind the attention is arguably the history between the last names. Before Marcus, the Real Housewives star was in a two-decade-long relationship with NBA legend Scottie Pippen. In the recent episode of ‘Separation Anxiety’, the 48-year-old debunked some theories about her former bond.

She openly spoke about being in a relationship with a famous athlete. In addition, Pippen also revealed people perceiving her to be the ‘worst person’.

Larsa Pippen opened up on receiving hate for leaving Scottie Pippen

Larsa Pippen’s most notable relationship was with her ex-husband, Scottie Pippen. The pair tied the knot in 1997 when the Hall of Famer had just won his fifth championship. They stayed together for twenty-one years before the Chicago Bulls icon filed for divorce. However, shortly after, they appeared to have reconciled before Larsa filed for divorce in 2018, this time for good.

There was an element of shock from their decision since it felt like the couple was well on their way to making the relationship work. But due to ‘irreconcilable differences’ they went their separate ways. During the latest episode of Marcus and Larsa Pippen’s podcast, the latter subtly spoke about her relationship with Scottie Pippen. She went into detail about having a celebrity as a partner and the assumption people have in case the couple breaks up.

“When you are with someone that is a celebrity, whoever is like the celebrity that you are with, when you leave, people automatically think you are the worst person for leaving that person. And just because someone is like a great athlete, actor, doctor, whatever it is does not make them a good partner,” said the 48-year-old about her previous relationship.

Pippen also mentioned how all celebrities are normal human beings at the end of the day. When sharing a home, she stated, “You forget they are a celebrity.” While she didn’t mention Scottie Pippen, it does seem like she indirectly spoke about her relationship with the Bulls legend.

Despite putting an end to their marriage, both Larsa and Scottie Pippen didn’t have any tension between them. In 2019, the Real Housewives of Miami star claimed she was “best friends” with the basketball legend, according to US Magazine. After their split, the ex-couple focused on co-parenting their four children. For the former pair, family always comes first.
