Willie D of the Geto Boys has never failed to voice his displeasure against NBA Legend Charles Barkley. In fact, the 56-year-old artist took a dig at Barkley in one of his songs. His problem rose from his belief that the NBA Legend was heavily critical of African-American players instead of appreciating their hard work. In his song calling out Barkley, the artist had said, “The only reason that they put the mic in your face, Is so you can do they dirt and talk down on your race.” Years later, Willie D’s dislike of Barkley has not ended and the rapper once even ended up threatening the 11-time All-Star. Despite his cold behavior towards Barkley, Willie D recently found Shaquille O’Neal supporting him after he raised his voice regarding a recent controversy.
On the day of the Grammys, Willie D posted a video on his Instagram page. In the video, the rapper looked frustrated and relayed his disappointment with a snub from the award show.

The Grammys celebrated 50 years of the Hip Hop industry in their recent edition. To commemorate this occasion, several artists and groups were invited to perform on the day of the award ceremony. However, only one member from Geto Boys, a reputed band in the Hip Hop industry, was invited. The member was Scarface.
This didn’t sit well with Willie D, the other founding member of the group. In his Instagram rant, he said, “How in the h**l are you gonna have a 50-year tribute to Hip Hop and not include Geto Boys the group?” He reminded fans that Scarface wasn’t the only member or representative of the Geto Boys. Furthermore, the hip-hop icon questioned how a song he co-wrote was performed on the stage without him being present.

He called out the Grammys for not having the “decency” and “respect” to invite him. He said, “Y’all are some clowns for that. All the way out of pocket. Whoever made the call, y’all some clown. No more talking.” The rapper captioned the video, “Disrespectful Mo**s!! No mo’ talk!!” While this video was liked by 13.2k+ fans, Shaquille O’Neal stood by the veteran artist and shared the video on his Instagram story.
Willie D once threatened Charles Barkley
In the ‘Geto Boys Reloaded’ podcast, Willie D spoke about the outcome of a potential boxing game between Barkley and himself. He stated that Barkley would have size and height on his side considering his profession. He added that if they were to play by the rules, then Barkley would have an advantage again.
