In any discussion to name the best shooter of all time, Stephen Curry’s name automatically pops into people’s minds. Curry, in late December last year, broke Ray Allen’s record for scoring the most three-pointers. A milestone that the Warriors star has been working for his whole career. However, a few years ago, Chris Paul found someone of the same ilk as Stephen Curry. It was none other than Bronny James, the son of LeBron James. In an exhibition match in 2019, James displayed a Curry-Esque performance that impressed Phoenix Suns star, Chris Paul, who is also his godfather.

Bronny, being the son of the great LeBron, carries the weight of his father’s legacy on his shoulders. However, he was able to produce some exceptional plays on the court, which drew comparisons to Curry.

Bronny James impressed Chris Paul

In an exhibition game between ‘Strive for Greatness’ and Team Melo of Carmelo Anthony in 2019, Bronny showed some resemblance to the eight-time NBA All-Star’s gameplay. Just as Curry is a master at lobbing the ball into the basket from the half-court, Bronny displayed a few similar shades on the court. The fans witnessed him scoring many three-pointers from the middle of the court.

In the game, he passed the ball to his teammates, just like how the Dubs guard passed the ball around. The audience in attendance along with Chris Paul witnessed Bronny’s performance in awe. Despite not being the tallest on the court, he was able to seamlessly move around defenders. Bronny’s performance not only thoroughly impressed Paul but also reminded the Phoenix Suns star of Curry’s gameplay.

Bronny’s performance also may have made Paul recognize his talent. He may have considered Bronny to be one of the future NBA prospects with a very high ceiling. With the likes of Dior Johnson, Skyy Clark, and Tezz Cobbs present in the game, James stood out to catch the attention of ‘CP3.’
