NBA veteran Tristan Thompson recently made his debut as a basketball analyst for ESPN in the NBA On ESPN show. It is safe to say Thompson is not the most liked former NBA player. His relationship issues with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian have cast a bad image on Thompson and it was very evident recently. In the latest segment of the NBA On ESPN, NBA legend Vince Carter made an appearance. During the show, co-hosts Thompson and Malika Andrews recreated an iconic dunk.
Fans were not impressed with Tristan Thompson
Vince Carter is known for his mind-boggling high-flying dunks. Over the course of his career, Carter has had some iconic dunks, be it during games and during the NBA Slam Dunk contest. The eight-time NBA All-Star shocked the world with some unbelievable dunks and won the 2000 Slam Dunk contest. Basketball fans would never forget his dunk jumping over a 7’2″ French center, Fr?d?ric Weis, during the 2000 Olympic Games. But no, Tristan Thompson and Malika Andrews did not recreate that dunk. In fact, none of Carter’s dunks.

Instead, the two recreated one of Gerald Green’s iconic dunks, the Cupcake Slam. In the 2007 Slam Dunk contest, Green had a cupcake lighten up with a candle on the rim. When the ball was bounced high, he rose up, gathered the ball, and slammed it while blowing the candle off. Green eventually won the title that year. Thompson and Malika recreated this iconic dunk on the set. However, most fans were not feeling it. Here are some reactions:

Most fans did not want Tristan on ESPN and reminded everyone about his issues with Khloe Kardashian. On the other hand, some also trolled the 2016 NBA champion for his lack of vertical jump as he hung on the rim and then blew the candle hilariously.
